Parenting Bright Kids® Newsletter.

This Newsletter was created to provide ideas and news to parents of bright kids on parenting and also finding the latest on where and when events are taking place that are of interest to bright children. This Newsletter, updated quarterly, provides a quick and easy way for you to stay up to date and get the latest information wherever and whenever you need it.

Parenting Bright Kids® - is a parent support group for parents of bright children for the Westchester County area in lower New York state.

Are you a parent of a bright child?
Do you find your child’s intellectual ability makes them different from other children?
Do you feel you’re alone when you try to share your child’s problems and differences with other parents?
Does your child find it difficult to find friends who have the same interests and intensity?

Parenting Bright Kids (PBK) is a parent support group for parents of bright children. PBK’s hosts guest lecturers, SENG model parent group discussions, monthly parent teas and social get togethers for the children.

The Parenting Bright Kids™ Chat Room - now it’s easy to meet and talk to other parents of bright kids! We’ve created a private chat room just for our members and our participants. There will be scheduled chats that will be by invitation only. The chat room is password protected. If you would like to join one of these discussions please fill out our join our mailing list form or email us your contact information. Please check your email for an invitation! Chat Rooms are scheduled the first Monday of every month.

Parenting Bright Kids® - Monthly Parent GroupTea
for 2005-2006

Come join us for some coffee or tea and have a chance to meet other parents of bright kids. We meet informally to share stories and information for our children. Email us for more information or fill out our join our mailing list form for an invitation.

Our monthly Teas are scheduled

When: Every 3rd Thursday of the Month

Where: Briarcliff Manor, NY

Non-Members - $5.00, Members - free!

SENG Model Parent Support Group Discussions

These guided discussions are a ten-week series covering topics on social and emotional needs of gifted children and parenting issues related to raising gifted children. There is an emphasis on the positive aspects of parenting, avoiding power struggles, and helping gifted children learn appropriate life skills while enhancing the parent/child relationship and parent self-esteem. In 1981, SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) established guidelines for SENG-Model Parent Support Groups. Topics include Characteristics, Motivation, Discipline, Peer Relations, Stress Management, Communication of Feelings, and more.
